October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, aside from skin cancer. The American Cancer Society estimates 192,370 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to occur among women in 2010. An estimated 40,170 women will die from breast cancer this year. Today, there are about 2.5 million breast cancer survivors living in the United States.
If you’re worried about developing breast cancer, or if you know someone that has been diagnosed with the disease, one way to deal with your concerns is to get as much information as possible. Join Dr. Collins as she discusses what breast cancer is, who gets it, the benefits of early detection and screenings and other useful information needed to manage any fears you may have about breast cancer.
